Senior Massage Therapist

About the Role

Our client is looking for a dedicated and experienced Senior Massage Therapist to lead their wellness team at a premier spa in Portsmouth . This role involves providing a wide range of therapeutic massage treatments, overseeing the scheduling and performance of other therapists, and ensuring an exceptional client experience. You will play a key role in maintaining the spa's reputation for therapeutic excellence and promoting a culture of well-being and relaxation. This position is ideal for a therapist with strong technical skills and a passion for holistic health, seeking to take on more responsibility in a professional setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform various types of massage, including Swedish, deep tissue, sports massage, and aromatherapy, tailoring treatments to individual client needs.
• Conduct client consultations to assess needs, identify contraindications, and recommend appropriate massage therapies.
• Supervise and mentor junior massage therapists, providing guidance on techniques and client care standards.
• Manage appointment bookings and ensure efficient utilisation of therapy rooms.
• Maintain a clean, calm, and professional treatment environment, adhering to all hygiene and safety protocols.
• Contribute to the development of new treatment protocols and wellness packages.

Requirements

• Professional qualification in Massage Therapy (e.g., ITEC, VTCT, BTEC).
• Minimum of 5 years' experience as a practicing Massage Therapist.
• Proficiency in a variety of massage modalities and techniques.
• Excellent knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and kinesiology.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a client-centered approach.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong sense of responsibility.
