About the Role

Our client is actively seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their fully remote team, serving clients across various industries from their operational base in Sunderland . This role is critical for driving innovative design solutions and ensuring the successful development of mechanical systems. You will be responsible for the end-to-end design process, working independently and collaboratively with a distributed team. Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components and systems using advanced CAD software , ensuring manufacturability and functionality.
• Perform detailed engineering analysis, including stress, thermal, and vibration analysis , to validate designs.
• Create comprehensive technical documentation, including 3D models, 2D drawings, and Bill of Materials (BOM) .
• Collaborate effectively with project managers, clients, and other engineers in a remote setting.
• Troubleshoot design issues and implement effective solutions to meet project requirements.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the design and engineering processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant technical discipline.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in mechanical design and development.
• Proficiency in industry-standard CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor) and simulation tools.
• Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and design for assembly (DFA).
• Excellent remote communication and collaboration skills, with a proven ability to work autonomously.
• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving capabilities.
