About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their innovative R&D team in Cambridge . Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of complex mechanical components and systems using advanced 3D CAD software.
- Perform rigorous engineering analysis, including Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), to optimize designs.
- Develop and refine prototypes, and oversee testing procedures to validate design performance.
- Create detailed manufacturing drawings, specifications, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including electrical, software, and materials engineering.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers in the Cambridge team.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in mechanical design and product development.
- Expert proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA) and advanced FEA/CFD tools.
- Strong understanding of materials science, manufacturing processes, and GD&T .
- Proven ability to innovate and solve complex engineering challenges.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, essential for working in the vibrant Cambridge ecosystem.
