About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their innovative team. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to contribute your expertise from anywhere in the UK. You will play a crucial role in the design and development of cutting-edge mechanical systems, collaborating with a diverse and talented group of engineers and project managers. The ideal candidate will possess a strong track record in complex design challenges and a passion for delivering high-quality engineering solutions, working within a virtual environment that fosters collaboration, autonomy, and professional growth.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the design and development of new mechanical components and systems using CAD software.
Conduct thorough stress analysis , thermal analysis , and other simulations to validate designs.
Create detailed technical drawings, specifications, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
Collaborate remotely with cross-functional teams, including electronics, software, and manufacturing engineers, to ensure integrated system performance.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers within the team.
Manage design projects, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget and quality standards.

Requirements

Master's degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in mechanical design and product development.
Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, Inventor) and FEA tools.
Strong understanding of materials science, manufacturing processes, and DFM principles.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills for effective remote collaboration.
Proven ability to manage complex projects and deliver innovative solutions.
