FS Recruitment Services is recruiting a Senior Mechanical Engineer for an established consultancy working across residential, commercial, heritage, healthcare and high-rise developments.

This opportunity suits an experienced mechanical building services engineer who enjoys solving complex design challenges, guiding other engineers and building strong client relationships.

You’ll join a collaborative team with support for professional development, exposure to varied projects and the opportunity to influence sustainable, energy-efficient design.

The opportunity

You’ll lead the design and development of mechanical building services systems, including HVAC, public health/plumbing and fire protection, taking responsibility for technical quality and supporting projects through design, installation and commissioning.

Your responsibilities will include:

Leading mechanical designs that meet project requirements, UK regulations and quality standards.

Carrying out feasibility studies and working with clients, engineers and other stakeholders to establish practical design solutions.

Providing technical guidance and supporting the development of engineering colleagues.

Monitoring project progress, budgets and risks, resolving issues as they arise.

Contributing to tenders and client presentations, helping secure new work and strengthen existing relationships.

Incorporating sustainability, energy efficiency and relevant technical developments into your designs.

What you’ll bring

You’ll have a proven track record in mechanical building services engineering, with the technical confidence to lead projects and communicate effectively with clients and colleagues.

We’re looking for:

A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.

Strong experience designing mechanical systems for buildings, including HVAC, plumbing and fire protection.

Proficiency with design tools such as AutoCAD, Revit and IES.

A sound understanding of UK building regulations, relevant codes and sustainability standards.

The ability to manage competing project priorities and solve technical problems.

Clear communication skills and experience providing technical leadership.

Experience delivering projects in London would be an advantage.
