About the Role
Our client is looking for an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer specializing in HVAC design to join their team in Bristol . This role is critical in designing, specifying, and overseeing the implementation of efficient and effective heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems for a range of commercial and industrial projects. You will be responsible for ensuring that all HVAC designs meet building performance requirements, energy efficiency standards, and client expectations. This is a key position for an engineer passionate about sustainable building services.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop HVAC systems for new builds and retrofits, including load calculations, system selection, and equipment specification.
- Create detailed design drawings, schematics, and specifications using CAD software and relevant industry standards.
- Conduct energy modeling and performance analysis to optimize system efficiency and reduce operational costs.
- Liaise with architects, electrical engineers, and construction teams to ensure seamless integration of HVAC systems.
- Perform site inspections to monitor installation progress and ensure compliance with design specifications.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for installed HVAC systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in HVAC system design.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit MEP) and HVAC design tools (e.g., HAP, IESVE).
- Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and building physics.
- Knowledge of energy efficiency standards and sustainable building design principles.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
