Senior Mechanical Engineer - HVAC Systems

About the Role

Our client is a leading provider of advanced building services and is seeking a highly experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer specializing in HVAC Systems for their operations in Liverpool . This role is crucial for the design, implementation, and oversight of complex heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems for commercial and industrial projects. You will lead engineering efforts, ensure optimal system performance, and mentor junior engineers. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and specification of mechanical HVAC systems for large-scale commercial and industrial projects, ensuring compliance with building codes and performance requirements.
• Develop detailed schematics, calculations, and technical documentation for HVAC systems, including load calculations, airflow analysis, and equipment selection.
• Oversee the installation and commissioning of HVAC systems, ensuring quality and adherence to design specifications.
• Conduct performance testing and troubleshooting of existing systems, identifying and implementing efficiency improvements.
• Collaborate with architects, electrical engineers, and project managers to ensure seamless integration of HVAC systems within overall building design.
• Mentor and guide junior mechanical engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
• A minimum of 8 years of professional experience in the design and management of HVAC systems .
• Proven expertise in HVAC system design principles, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics.
• Proficiency in relevant HVAC design software (e.g., AutoCAD MEP, Revit MEP, IES VE).
• Strong understanding of energy efficiency standards and sustainable building design practices.
• Excellent project management, communication, and leadership skills.
