Senior Mechanical Engineer - Manufacturing

About the Role

Our client, a leading manufacturing firm, is looking for a highly experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to enhance their production capabilities in Nottingham . This role is critical for designing, implementing, and optimizing manufacturing processes and equipment to improve efficiency, quality, and safety. You will work hands-on with production lines, identify areas for improvement, and lead projects to implement new technologies and methodologies. Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize mechanical systems and equipment for manufacturing processes.
• Lead projects focused on improving production efficiency, reducing waste, and enhancing product quality.
• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues on the production floor, minimizing downtime.
• Specify and procure new machinery and equipment, overseeing installation and commissioning.
• Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs for critical mechanical systems.
• Collaborate with production teams, quality control, and other engineering disciplines to achieve operational excellence.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in manufacturing engineering or mechanical design within a production environment.
• Strong understanding of machinery design , automation, and industrial processes.
• Experience with CAD software for tooling and fixture design.
• Proven ability to lead complex projects and implement process improvements.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and practical, hands-on experience.
