Senior Mechanical Engineer - Manufacturing

About the Role

Our client is seeking a seasoned Senior Mechanical Engineer to enhance their manufacturing operations in Stoke-on-Trent . This role is critical in driving the design, implementation, and optimization of mechanical systems and equipment integral to their production processes. You will lead projects focused on improving efficiency, safety, and reliability within the manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement mechanical systems and equipment for manufacturing processes.
• Optimize existing machinery and production lines for increased efficiency, reduced downtime, and improved safety.
• Conduct detailed engineering analysis , including stress, thermal, and vibration, to ensure equipment reliability.
• Manage engineering projects from conception through to installation and commissioning.
• Collaborate with production teams, maintenance staff, and external vendors to resolve technical challenges.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of professional experience in mechanical engineering, with a strong focus on manufacturing environments .
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks , Creo ) and knowledge of simulation tools.
• Experience with industrial automation, robotics, and process equipment design.
• Strong understanding of materials, mechanics of materials, and manufacturing techniques.
• Excellent project management and problem-solving skills.
