About the Role
Our client is searching for an accomplished Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead product design initiatives in their renowned engineering hub located in Oxford . This hybrid role offers the perfect balance between collaborating with colleagues in the office and enjoying the flexibility of remote work. You will be responsible for driving the design and development of innovative mechanical products, from initial concept to market launch, while also mentoring junior engineers and contributing to strategic technical decisions within a prestigious organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development lifecycle of new mechanical products, ensuring innovation and adherence to market requirements.
- Create detailed 3D models, 2D drawings, and robust technical specifications using advanced CAD software .
- Conduct comprehensive engineering analysis, including thermal, stress, and vibration simulations, to validate designs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, manufacturing, and quality assurance, to ensure product success.
- Mentor and guide a team of mechanical engineers, fostering their technical development and project contribution.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively to achieve project objectives.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in mechanical product design and development.
- Expertise in industry-standard CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA) and simulation tools (FEA/CFD).
- Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and product lifecycle management (PLM).
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities and experience in mentoring engineering teams.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
