Senior Mechanical Engineer - Product Design

About the Role

Our client is looking for an accomplished Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their fully remote product design division. This pivotal role involves leading the design and development of innovative mechanical solutions that define their market-leading products. You will be instrumental in translating complex requirements into elegant, functional designs, working closely with a distributed team of engineers, product managers, and user experience specialists. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of complex mechanical components and systems from concept through to production-ready stages.
• Create detailed 3D CAD models , robust engineering drawings, and comprehensive Bills of Materials (BOMs) using industry-standard software.
• Perform advanced engineering analyses, including FEA and thermal simulations , to optimize design performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
• Collaborate effectively with a remote team, including electrical and software engineers, to ensure seamless integration of mechanical and other system components.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on design challenges and best practices.
• Support prototyping, testing, and validation activities, analyzing results and implementing necessary design revisions.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 7+ years of progressive experience in mechanical design and product development, with a strong portfolio.
• Expertise in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA) and advanced simulation/FEA tools.
• Deep understanding of material science, manufacturing processes, and DFM principles.
• Proven ability to lead technical aspects of product development projects.
• Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills, crucial for a remote setting.
