Senior Mechanical Engineer - Product Development

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced and visionary Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their product development team, operating on a fully remote basis, with the company headquartered in Oxford . This senior position is crucial for driving the innovation and design of next-generation products, demanding strong technical leadership and a passion for creating market-leading solutions. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical design and development of new products, from conceptualisation and feasibility studies through to detailed design and production support.
• Mentor and guide junior mechanical engineers, providing technical expertise and fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
• Perform advanced engineering analyses, including stress, thermal, and vibration analysis , to ensure product robustness and performance under all conditions.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including industrial designers, electrical engineers, software developers, and marketing, in a remote setting.
• Develop and manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation for mechanical development activities.
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry best practices, incorporating innovative solutions into product designs and development processes.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related advanced technical field.
• A minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in mechanical product development , with a strong portfolio of successfully launched products.
• Expertise in advanced CAD/CAE tools (e.g., SolidWorks, ANSYS, COMSOL) and a deep understanding of engineering principles.
• Proven experience in leading engineering projects and teams, with exceptional remote collaboration capabilities.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials selection, and design for manufacturability (DFM).
• Excellent strategic thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills, essential for effective remote leadership.
