About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their advanced Research and Development team in Southampton . You will be responsible for leading complex mechanical design projects, from conceptualization through to prototype and validation. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of complex mechanical systems and components for R&D projects.
- Utilize advanced CAD software and FEA tools to model, simulate, and optimize designs.
- Develop and execute rigorous testing procedures to validate design performance and reliability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical, software, and materials engineers, to integrate mechanical solutions.
- Contribute to the technical strategy and roadmap for future product innovations.
- Document designs, analyses, and test results thoroughly, ensuring clear communication to stakeholders.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in mechanical design and R&D, with a strong portfolio of innovative projects.
- Expertise in SolidWorks , CATIA, or similar high-end CAD software.
- Proficiency in advanced Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) is essential.
- Proven ability to lead technical initiatives and mentor junior engineers.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a creative approach to engineering challenges.
