Senior Mechanical Engineer - R&D

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Conceptualize, design, and prototype novel mechanical systems and devices for next-generation products.
• Conduct feasibility studies, technical research, and performance analysis to evaluate new technologies and design approaches.
• Utilize advanced CAD and simulation tools to model, analyze, and optimize mechanical designs for performance, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional R&D teams, including electrical engineers, software developers, and material scientists, to integrate mechanical solutions.
• Develop test plans and conduct rigorous experiments to validate prototypes and gather data for design iteration.
• Document research findings, design iterations, and technical specifications, contributing to intellectual property generation in Liverpool .

Requirements

• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field with a strong R&D focus.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in mechanical design and development, with a significant portion dedicated to Research & Development or new product introduction.
• Proven track record of innovation and successful development of novel mechanical concepts.
• Expertise in 3D CAD software (e.g., Fusion 360, SolidWorks) and simulation/analysis tools (e.g., ANSYS, COMSOL).
• Strong understanding of various manufacturing processes and rapid prototyping techniques.
