Senior Mechanical Engineer - R&D

About the Role

Our client is seeking a visionary Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their Research and Development division in Sheffield . Key Responsibilities

• Lead conceptual design and development of novel mechanical systems and technologies for R&D projects.
• Conduct feasibility studies, technical assessments, and performance analysis of new concepts.
• Utilize advanced CAD/CAE tools for detailed design, simulation, and optimization.
• Collaborate with research scientists, product managers, and external partners to advance R&D objectives.
• Develop and oversee the construction and testing of prototypes, iterating based on results.

Requirements

• PhD or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related advanced technical field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in R&D, product development, or advanced mechanical design.
• Demonstrated expertise in computational mechanics , materials science, and advanced manufacturing techniques.
• Proficiency with advanced CAD and simulation software (e.g., ANSYS, COMSOL).
• Strong research capabilities and a track record of innovation.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts.
