About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced and innovative Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their dynamic team in Aberdeen . This role is pivotal in driving the design, development, and optimisation of complex mechanical systems, contributing directly to cutting-edge projects within the energy sector. You will be instrumental in mentoring junior engineers, leading technical discussions, and ensuring that all engineering deliverables meet the highest standards of quality and safety, fostering a culture of technical excellence and collaborative problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and analysis of mechanical components and systems using advanced CAD and FEA software.
- Develop and execute comprehensive test plans to validate designs and ensure performance under demanding conditions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers and project managers, to integrate mechanical solutions seamlessly.
- Oversee the manufacturing and assembly processes, providing technical guidance and resolving issues to ensure timely project completion.
- Conduct root cause analysis for any mechanical failures and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry best practices to continually enhance design methodologies and project outcomes.
Requirements
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in mechanical engineering , with a focus on system design and analysis.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks or similar advanced CAD software, and experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools.
- A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field; Master's degree is a plus.
- Demonstrated experience in project leadership and a proven track record of delivering complex engineering solutions.
- Excellent understanding of materials science, thermodynamics, and fluid dynamics.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with meticulous attention to detail.
