Senior Metallurgist

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Metallurgist to lead their metallurgical testing and process development efforts in Norwich . This key role focuses on optimizing mineral processing circuits to maximize recovery rates and product quality for various commodities. You will oversee laboratory operations, conduct complex test work, and provide expert metallurgical advice to support operational efficiency and new project development. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of mineral processing fundamentals and a proven ability to innovate and solve complex metallurgical challenges within the Norfolk mining industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and conduct laboratory-scale and pilot-scale metallurgical test programs.
• Analyze and interpret metallurgical data to optimize existing processes and develop new ones.
• Develop metallurgical models and process simulations to predict performance.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for plant operations.
• Prepare detailed metallurgical reports, recommendations, and presentations.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in mineral processing technology and techniques.

Requirements

• MSc or PhD in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in mineral processing and metallurgy, preferably within mining.
• Expertise in various metallurgical techniques (e.g., comminution, flotation, leaching, solvent extraction).
• Proficiency with metallurgical modeling and simulation software.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
