Senior Mine Geotechnical Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Mine Geotechnical Engineer to join their team, based near Bradford, West Yorkshire , with a flexible hybrid working arrangement. This critical role focuses on ensuring the stability and safety of mine structures, slopes, and underground excavations through expert geotechnical analysis and design. You will play a key part in risk assessment, the development of mitigation strategies, and providing essential technical advice to mining projects, contributing to the operational integrity and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct geotechnical investigations and assessments for open pit and underground mines.
• Analyze slope stability, rock mechanics, and ground support requirements for mine excavations.
• Develop and implement geotechnical monitoring programs to assess ground conditions.
• Design and recommend appropriate ground support systems and stabilization measures.
• Provide expert geotechnical input for mine planning, design, and operational decision-making.
• Prepare detailed geotechnical reports, risk assessments, and technical recommendations.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Mining Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in mine geotechnical engineering, with a strong focus on practical applications.
• Proficiency in geotechnical analysis software (e.g., Rocscience suite, FLAC).
• Solid understanding of rock mechanics, soil mechanics, and numerical modeling techniques.
• Experience in site investigations, data interpretation, and hazard identification in mining environments.
• Excellent technical report writing and communication skills.
