About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Mine Planner to join their resource development team in Bradford . This role is pivotal in designing and optimizing mine plans to ensure efficient and safe resource extraction. You will be responsible for developing detailed short-term and long-term mine plans, integrating geological data, production requirements, and economic considerations. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical abilities, expertise in mine planning software, and a deep understanding of mining engineering principles, contributing to the strategic direction of operations in West Yorkshire .
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and update detailed mine plans, including pit designs, haul roads, and waste dump configurations.
- Optimize mine sequencing and production schedules to maximize economic value and minimize operational risks.
- Conduct geotechnical reviews and incorporate geological and survey data into planning.
- Utilize advanced mine planning software (e.g., Deswik, Vulcan, XACT) for design and simulation.
- Collaborate closely with operations, geology, and engineering teams to ensure plan feasibility.
- Prepare reports and presentations on mine plans, production forecasts, and project economics.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in mine planning and design, with a focus on open-pit operations.
- Proficiency with industry-standard mine planning and design software.
- Strong understanding of mining methods, geology, and geotechnical principles.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience in economic evaluation and sensitivity analysis for mine plans.
