Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Mining Engineer specializing in Planning and Design to join their team in Belfast . You will be responsible for developing mine plans, optimizing resource utilization, and implementing best practices in mine engineering. Key Responsibilities

• Develop short-term and long-term mine plans, including production scheduling, equipment selection, and resource allocation.
• Design mine layouts, including access routes, stopes, and waste disposal areas, ensuring compliance with engineering standards.
• Conduct feasibility studies and economic evaluations for new mining projects and expansions.
• Implement and monitor mining performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement.
• Ensure all mine designs and plans adhere to stringent safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineering staff.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or a closely related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in mine planning and design, with a proven track record in both open-pit and underground operations.
• Proficiency with mine planning software (e.g., Deswik, MineSight, Surpac).
• Strong understanding of geotechnical principles, mine economics, and regulatory frameworks.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively on-site and in the office in Belfast, Northern Ireland .
