Senior Mining Engineer - Planning

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Mining Engineer with a specialization in mine planning to join their team in Liverpool . This role is central to the strategic development and long-term viability of the company's mining projects. You will be responsible for creating and optimizing mine plans, including production schedules, resource allocation, and capital expenditure forecasts. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of various mining methods, geological principles, and advanced mine planning software. You will collaborate closely with operational teams, geologists, and management to ensure efficient and safe extraction of resources, driving project success.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain comprehensive long-term mine plans and short-term production schedules.
• Optimize mine designs and layouts to maximize resource recovery and operational efficiency.
• Conduct feasibility studies and economic analyses for new mining projects and expansions.
• Integrate geological models and geotechnical data into mine planning processes.
• Work closely with operations to implement plans and provide technical support.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations, and budgets related to mine planning activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in mine planning and design, covering both open-pit and underground operations.
• Proficiency in mine planning software such as Deswik, Vulcan, or Surpac.
• Strong understanding of geostatistics , resource estimation, and mine economics.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
• Ability to effectively communicate technical information to diverse stakeholders.
