Senior Mining Engineer

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor detailed mining plans and production schedules.
• Conduct feasibility studies and economic evaluations for new and existing mining projects.
• Apply principles of mine design, including open pit or underground methods, and material handling systems.
• Utilize CAD and mine planning software to create site layouts, haul roads, and excavation designs.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental legislation and best practices.
• Provide technical support and guidance to mine operations personnel and junior engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or a closely related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in mining engineering roles.
• Proficiency in mine planning software such as Surpac, Datamine, or similar.
• Strong understanding of geological data interpretation and its application to mine design.
• Experience with open-pit mining or underground mining techniques.
