Senior Mining Geologist

About the Role

Our client seeks a highly qualified Senior Mining Geologist to join their team in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, UK . This role is critical for the exploration, evaluation, and resource estimation activities that drive the company's mining operations. You will be responsible for geological modelling, data analysis, and providing expert geological input to mine planning and operational strategies. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in mineral exploration and resource definition, coupled with strong analytical skills and the ability to lead geological projects. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed 3D geological models using industry-standard software (e.g., Leapfrog, Vulcan, Surpac).
• Plan and supervise exploration programs, including drilling, sampling, and assaying activities.
• Perform resource and reserve estimations in accordance with relevant international codes (e.g., JORC, NI 43-101).
• Analyse geological data to identify mineralisation trends, controls, and potential exploration targets.
• Provide geological support to mine operations, including geological mapping, geotechnical logging, and grade control.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations, and geological assessments for internal stakeholders and external parties.

Requirements

• MSc or PhD in Geology, Economic Geology, or a related field.
• A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in mining geology, focusing on resource definition and exploration.
• Demonstrated proficiency in geological modelling software and data analysis techniques.
• Experience with various commodity types and deposit styles.
• Strong understanding of geological processes, mineralogy, and structural controls on ore bodies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience presenting complex geological information.
