About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Mining Project Manager to lead significant projects within their portfolio in the South West England region, based out of Bristol . This role demands a proven leader capable of managing all phases of mining projects, from feasibility studies through to construction and commissioning, ensuring successful delivery on time, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards within the mining sector . You will be responsible for strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, risk management, and team leadership, working in a hybrid capacity that balances site oversight with strategic planning and reporting. This is a key leadership position offering the opportunity to shape major developments and drive project success.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full lifecycle of mining projects, including planning, design, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
- Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, and resource allocation.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks throughout all phases.
- Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies.
- Lead and motivate multidisciplinary project teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Liaise effectively with clients, regulatory bodies, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project alignment and success.
Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in project management within the mining industry or heavy engineering sector.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mining, Civil, Mechanical) or a related technical field; PMP certification is highly desirable.
- Proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale mining projects on time and within budget.
- Strong understanding of mining operations, project finance, and contract management.
- Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid model, requiring regular site presence and flexible remote work.
