Senior Narrative Designer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a creative and experienced Senior Narrative Designer to craft compelling stories and dialogue for their upcoming game titles, based in Norwich . You will be responsible for developing the game's lore, characters, plotlines, and dialogue, ensuring a cohesive and engaging player experience. This role requires a deep understanding of storytelling techniques, excellent writing skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with design, art, and engineering teams. You will play a key role in shaping the emotional journey of our players.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and write engaging narratives, including plot outlines, character backstories, dialogue, and in-game text.
• Collaborate with game designers to integrate narrative elements seamlessly into gameplay mechanics and level design.
• Create and maintain narrative documentation , including story bibles and character profiles.
• Work with voice actors and localization teams to ensure narrative fidelity across different languages.
• Contribute to the overall world-building and thematic consistency of the game.
• Mentor junior narrative designers and provide feedback on narrative content.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience in narrative design or writing for video games.
• Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with a portfolio of published work.
• Experience with scripting languages or game design tools for narrative implementation.
• Strong understanding of narrative structure, character development, and pacing.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid team environment and manage multiple narrative threads.
