Senior Network Engineer - Cisco & Cloud Networking

About the Role

Our client is looking for a skilled and experienced Senior Network Engineer to manage and enhance their network infrastructure in Plymouth . This role is integral to ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of the company's network systems, both on-premises and in the cloud. You will be involved in designing, implementing, and troubleshooting complex network solutions, managing network hardware, and supporting the migration and integration of cloud networking services. Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain robust and scalable enterprise network infrastructure.
• Configure and manage network devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers (primarily Cisco).
• Oversee the integration and management of cloud networking environments (e.g., AWS VPC, Azure VNet).
• Monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to optimize throughput and latency.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues, providing timely resolution to minimize downtime.
• Develop and maintain network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Networking, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience in network engineering, with a strong focus on enterprise networks.
• In-depth knowledge of Cisco networking technologies and protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, VLANs, STP).
• Hands-on experience with cloud networking concepts and services (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Proficiency in network security principles, including firewall management and VPN configuration.
• Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent are highly desirable.
