Senior Network Engineer - Cloud Networking

About the Role

Our client is seeking a seasoned Senior Network Engineer with expertise in cloud networking to join their team in Nottingham . This role involves designing, implementing, and managing complex network infrastructures, with a strong emphasis on integrating on-premises networks with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP). You will be instrumental in ensuring the performance, security, and reliability of our network services, working in a hybrid model that allows for both in-office collaboration and remote flexibility. This is a critical role for an individual passionate about cutting-edge network technologies and cloud integration.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain secure and scalable network infrastructures, including VPNs, firewalls, and load balancers.
• Implement and manage cloud networking components (e.g., VPCs, subnets, routing) across AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to ensure high availability and optimal performance.
• Develop and enforce network security policies and best practices to protect against cyber threats.
• Collaborate with system administrators and cloud engineers to integrate network services seamlessly.
• Document network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience in network engineering, with at least 2 years focused on cloud networking .
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), and network security principles.
• Hands-on experience with network hardware from major vendors (e.g., Cisco, Juniper).
• Familiarity with cloud provider networking services and concepts is essential.
