About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Network Engineer to join their dynamic team in Leicester . This pivotal role involves the design, implementation, and maintenance of robust and scalable telecommunications networks. You will be instrumental in ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of our client's critical network infrastructure, supporting a wide range of services and technologies. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of modern networking principles and a proactive approach to problem-solving, contributing to the evolution of their network architecture and operational excellence within a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, configure, and deploy complex IP networks , including routing, switching, and firewall solutions.
- Monitor network performance, troubleshoot connectivity issues, and implement proactive solutions to prevent downtime.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and operational procedures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support new service rollouts and infrastructure upgrades.
- Lead and mentor junior network engineers, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and skill development.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Network Engineer , with a strong focus on telecommunications environments.
- In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF , MPLS, and VPN technologies.
- Experience with network monitoring tools and network security best practices.
- Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent practical experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
