About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Senior Network Operations Engineer to join their fully remote team, contributing to the stability and performance of their critical telecommunications network. In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and troubleshooting the network infrastructure, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal service delivery. You will work proactively to identify potential issues, implement preventative measures, and respond effectively to incidents. Key Responsibilities

• Monitor network performance and availability 24/7 using sophisticated management tools.
• Respond to network alerts and incidents, performing root cause analysis and implementing timely resolutions.
• Perform routine maintenance, updates, and configuration changes on network devices.
• Develop and refine operational procedures and runbooks to improve efficiency and consistency.
• Collaborate with other engineering teams on network changes, upgrades, and incident response.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of network operations processes and tooling.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in network operations, focusing on enterprise or service provider networks.
• Proficiency in network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios, Zabbix) and troubleshooting methodologies.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), switching, and network security concepts.
• Experience with scripting for automation (e.g., Python, Bash) is a significant plus.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote work setting.
• Relevant certifications like CCNA or Network+ are advantageous.
