About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Network Security Engineer to bolster their cybersecurity efforts in Edinburgh . This role is critical in protecting the company's network infrastructure from evolving threats. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing robust security solutions, conducting threat analysis, and responding to security incidents. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of network security principles, extensive experience with security technologies, and a proactive approach to safeguarding sensitive data and systems within the telecoms environment .
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain network security infrastructure, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and endpoint security solutions.
- Conduct regular security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration testing to identify and mitigate risks.
- Develop and enforce network security policies, standards, and procedures.
- Monitor network traffic for security threats and respond promptly to security incidents.
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure security is integrated into all network design and deployment activities.
- Stay current with the latest cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and mitigation techniques.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience in network security engineering or a related role.
- Proven expertise in configuring and managing enterprise-level security devices (e.g., Palo Alto, Cisco ASA, Fortinet).
- Strong understanding of security protocols, encryption standards, and authentication methods.
- Experience with SIEM tools and security monitoring platforms.
- Relevant security certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, or GIAC are highly desirable.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work under pressure during security incidents.
