Senior Nursery Nurse

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and passionate Senior Nursery Nurse to join their dedicated team in Cardiff . In this role, you will play a key part in providing high-quality childcare, supporting the development of young children, and assisting in the day-to-day management of the nursery room. You will work closely with the Nursery Manager and other staff to ensure a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment where children can thrive. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to take on more responsibility and contribute to the continuous improvement of childcare services in Wales .

Key Responsibilities

• Provide excellent care and education to children aged 0-5, following the EYFS framework.
• Support and guide junior members of the nursery staff and deputise for the Nursery Manager when required.
• Plan and implement a range of stimulating and creative play-based learning activities.
• Observe, track, and report on children's progress, ensuring accurate record-keeping.
• Maintain high standards of health, safety, and hygiene within the nursery setting.
• Communicate effectively with parents and carers, fostering positive partnerships to support children's learning and well-being.

Requirements

• Level 3 or above qualification in Childcare (e.g., NNEB, Cache Level 3).
• Proven experience as a Nursery Nurse, with at least 1 year in a senior or supervisory role.
• Comprehensive knowledge of the EYFS framework and safeguarding legislation.
• Excellent understanding of child development.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
• Ability to inspire and motivate a team.
