Senior Nursery Nurse

About the Role

Our client is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Senior Nursery Nurse to join their reputable childcare setting in Cambridge . In this role, you will take on increased responsibilities, supporting the Room Leader, mentoring junior staff, and contributing to the planning and delivery of exceptional educational programs for young children. You will play a key part in ensuring a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment, promoting children's development and well-being, and acting as a positive role model for both children and colleagues within a highly regarded nursery.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Room Leader in managing a specific age group, ensuring high standards of care and education.
• Support the planning and implementation of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum, developing creative and stimulating activities.
• Mentor and guide junior nursery nurses and assistants, sharing knowledge and best practices.
• Observe children's progress, maintaining accurate records and contributing to development plans.
• Ensure the safety, health, and well-being of all children in the room, adhering strictly to policies and procedures.
• Foster positive relationships with parents, providing them with updates on their child's progress and engaging them in nursery activities.

Requirements

• A minimum Level 3 qualification in Childcare or Early Years Education.
• Proven experience working as a Nursery Nurse or equivalent in an early years setting, with some leadership responsibilities.
• Solid understanding of the EYFS framework and child development principles.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and observational skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and demonstrate initiative.
• Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
