About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Offshore Wind Turbine Technician to join their critical operations team based near Plymouth . This role is essential for ensuring the reliable performance and maintenance of offshore wind turbines, a cornerstone of the UK's renewable energy strategy. You will lead diagnostic efforts, perform complex repairs, and conduct routine maintenance to maximize turbine uptime and energy output. This position requires a hands-on individual with extensive knowledge of wind turbine systems and a commitment to safety and operational excellence in a demanding offshore environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, inspections, and repairs on offshore wind turbines and associated equipment.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using advanced diagnostic tools.
• Lead and mentor junior technicians, providing technical guidance and ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
• Conduct pre- and post-maintenance testing, documenting all activities and findings accurately.
• Operate safely in an offshore environment, adhering strictly to all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to enhance turbine performance and operational efficiency.

Requirements

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline (Mechanical, Electrical).
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a wind turbine technician, with a significant portion in an offshore setting.
• Strong understanding of wind turbine systems, including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic components.
• GWO Basic Safety Training (BST) certification and strong knowledge of HSE best practices.
• Ability to work at heights, in challenging weather conditions, and possess excellent problem-solving skills.
