Senior Operations Geologist

About the Role

Our client seeks a highly experienced Senior Operations Geologist to join their fully remote team, providing critical geological support for exploration and production activities in the Oil & Gas industry . This role focuses on real-time geological monitoring, wellsite geology supervision (remotely), and integrating geological data to optimize drilling and reservoir performance. You will play a key part in making crucial subsurface decisions, ensuring the successful identification and development of hydrocarbon resources. This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a seasoned geologist to contribute significantly from a remote location.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide real-time geological support during drilling operations, including well correlation and formation evaluation.
• Interpret geological data from logs, cores, and seismic to identify and evaluate hydrocarbon potential.
• Develop and refine geological models for exploration and development wells.
• Ensure the quality and accuracy of geological data acquired during drilling operations.
• Collaborate with reservoir engineers, geophysicists, and drilling teams to optimize well placement and reservoir understanding.
• Contribute to prospect generation and risked resource assessments.

Requirements

• Minimum of 7 years of experience as an operations geologist in the Oil & Gas sector , with significant wellsite exposure.
• Strong understanding of petrophysics , sedimentology, and structural geology.
• Proficiency in geological software for mapping, modeling, and data interpretation.
• Experience with various logging tools and formation evaluation techniques.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, or a related discipline.
