Senior Optical Network Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Design and architect robust, scalable, and high-performance optical networks using DWDM, ROADM, and other relevant technologies.
• Lead the deployment and integration of new optical networking equipment and software.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues within the optical network infrastructure, minimizing downtime.
• Conduct performance analysis and capacity planning for optical transport networks.
• Develop and maintain detailed network documentation, including designs, configurations, and troubleshooting guides.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on network strategy, technology roadmaps, and new service introduction for telecoms solutions.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.
• Significant experience (8+ years) in optical network design, deployment, and troubleshooting.
• In-depth knowledge of optical transmission technologies (e.g., DWDM, OTN, PON) and hardware.
• Proficiency with optical network simulation and analysis tools.
• Experience with network automation and scripting is a plus.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to work effectively in a complex, fast-paced environment in Cambridge .
