Senior Pharmaceutical Process Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and innovative Senior Pharmaceutical Process Engineer to join their advanced manufacturing and process development team in Cambridge . This role is critical for optimizing and scaling up pharmaceutical manufacturing processes to ensure efficiency, quality, and compliance. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and validating new processes, troubleshooting manufacturing issues, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in chemical engineering or a related discipline, with extensive experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize pharmaceutical manufacturing processes, ensuring scalability, robustness, and cost-effectiveness.
• Lead process validation activities, including protocol development, execution, and reporting, in compliance with regulatory guidelines.
• Troubleshoot manufacturing process deviations and implement effective root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Collaborate with R&D, Quality Assurance, and Manufacturing teams to ensure seamless technology transfer and process implementation.
• Evaluate and implement new process technologies and equipment to enhance manufacturing capabilities.
• Develop and maintain process documentation, including PFDs, P&IDs, SOPs, and batch records.

Requirements

• MSc or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in process development and engineering within the pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical industry.
• Proven expertise in process scale-up, validation, and technology transfer of pharmaceutical manufacturing processes.
• Strong understanding of GMP regulations, pharmaceutical manufacturing principles, and regulatory requirements.
• Experience with process simulation software and statistical process control (SPC) tools.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and project management skills.
