Senior Pharmaceutical Research Scientist

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Pharmaceutical Research Scientist to join their dynamic R&D team in Aberdeen . This pivotal role will involve leading groundbreaking research initiatives focused on developing novel drug candidates and therapeutic strategies. You will work within a state-of-the-art laboratory, contributing to all phases of the drug discovery pipeline, from target identification to preclinical development. Key Responsibilities

• Lead and execute complex research projects focused on drug discovery and development within the pharmaceutical sector.
• Design and perform in vitro and in vivo experiments to evaluate the efficacy and safety of new drug compounds.
• Analyze and interpret experimental data, generating comprehensive reports and presenting findings to senior management and cross-functional teams.
• Collaborate with medicinal chemists, toxicologists, and formulation scientists to advance drug candidates through the development pipeline.
• Stay abreast of the latest scientific literature and technological advancements in pharmaceutical research and development.
• Mentor and guide junior scientists and technicians, ensuring high-quality scientific output and adherence to best practices.

Requirements

• PhD in Pharmacology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a related life science discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of post-doctoral or industry experience in pharmaceutical R&D .
• Proven track record of successful research project management and execution, with a deep understanding of drug discovery pathways.
• Expertise in relevant experimental techniques, such as cell-based assays, target validation, and PK/PD studies.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills , with experience in scientific writing and presentation.
