Senior Pharmacologist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly accomplished Senior Pharmacologist to lead key research initiatives within their drug discovery division, operating remotely. This senior position involves designing and conducting sophisticated preclinical studies to evaluate the efficacy and safety of novel drug candidates. You will be instrumental in shaping the pharmacological strategy for therapeutic programs, interpreting complex data, and mentoring junior scientists. The ideal candidate possesses a deep scientific understanding of pharmacology, a proven track record in preclinical research, and the ability to drive research projects forward independently in a remote setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, execute, and interpret in vitro and in vivo preclinical studies to assess drug candidate pharmacology.
• Develop and validate new pharmacological assays and disease models relevant to therapeutic areas of interest.
• Provide expert scientific input and guidance on drug discovery and development programs.
• Analyze and present complex pharmacological data to internal project teams, management, and external collaborators.
• Mentor and guide junior pharmacologists and research associates.
• Stay current with scientific literature, emerging technologies, and industry trends in pharmacology and drug discovery.

Requirements

• PhD in Pharmacology, Toxicology, Physiology, or a related life science discipline.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in pharmacology research, with a significant portion in the pharmaceutical industry.
• Demonstrated expertise in designing and conducting preclinical studies , including pharmacokinetics (PK) and pharmacodynamics (PD) assessments.
• Strong experience with various pharmacological techniques and data analysis software.
• Excellent understanding of drug discovery and development processes.
• Exceptional scientific communication, presentation, and critical thinking skills, suited for a remote role.
