About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Pharmacologist to join their innovative research and development team in Wolverhampton . This position is crucial for advancing preclinical drug discovery and development programs. You will design and execute complex pharmacological studies, interpret data, and contribute to the strategic direction of research projects. The role requires a deep understanding of drug action mechanisms and the ability to translate research findings into actionable insights for therapeutic development. Key Responsibilities
- Design, conduct, and interpret in vitro and in vivo pharmacological studies to assess drug efficacy and safety.
- Develop and validate novel assay systems and experimental models relevant to therapeutic targets.
- Analyze complex pharmacological data, generate reports, and present findings to research teams and management.
- Collaborate with medicinal chemists, toxicologists, and other scientists to advance drug candidates.
- Stay abreast of the latest scientific literature and technological advancements in pharmacology and drug discovery.
- Contribute to the strategic planning of preclinical research programs and identify new research opportunities.
Requirements
- PhD in Pharmacology, Toxicology, or a related life science discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of post-doctoral research experience in drug discovery or preclinical development.
- Extensive experience with a range of pharmacological techniques and experimental models.
- Strong understanding of molecular biology, cell biology, and drug metabolism principles.
- Proven track record of scientific publication and presentation.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
