Job Description
We’re working with one of the UK’s leading Tier 1 contracting groups, with an established reputation for delivering some of the country’s most high-profile and complex infrastructure schemes. Having recently secured a long-term framework to deliver and maintain critical clean and wastewater infrastructure across South West England, they have a strong and secure pipeline of work, with significant project opportunities forecast for at least the next five years.
Take ownership of planning across a portfolio of water and wastewater projects for the YTL Wessex Water AMP8 Framework. Reporting to the Planning Manager, you'll set the planning standard, guide project teams on programme strategy, and support and mentor the planners.
What you'll do
- Lead programme development and control across multiple projects, from tender through delivery
- Own contract programme management, including submissions, acceptance and revisions
- Lead time-impact assessments and programme input to change and Compensation Events
- Run critical path, risk and resource analysis, and advise delivery teams on recovery options
- Produce clear programme reporting for project and senior stakeholders
- Coach and review the work of Planners, and set consistent planning procedures and templates
- Work with commercial teams to align programme, cost and change
What you'll bring
- Extensive planning experience in water, utilities or infrastructure, including a senior or lead role
- Expert-level Primavera P6 (or Asta Powerproject)
- Strong NEC knowledge, including programme requirements and delay analysis
- Experience of schedule risk analysis and resource-loaded programmes
- Strong stakeholder management and the confidence to advise and challenge
- Experience mentoring or leading planners
Desirable
- Framework or Design & Build experience
- Power BI or dashboard reporting experience
- Degree or recognised planning qualification (e.g. APM)
