Senior Planning Officer

Planning Officer (Development Management) Midlands £45-50 per hour (Umbrella) Initial 3 Month Contract (scope to extend)

The Role

This is a delivery-focused role. We are looking for someone who can join the team and make an immediate impact with minimal supervision. The successful candidate will be expected to take ownership of a significant caseload and progress applications through to determination at pace whilst maintaining robust decision making. The caseload is likely to include:

• Householder applications
• Minor applications
• Rural and agricultural applications
• Small to medium-scale residential developments
• Applications generally ranging up to approximately 30 dwellings
• Pre-application enquiries
• Appeals and associated casework where required
• Committee reports where required

We are looking for someone who:

• Is comfortable managing a high caseload
• Can work independently with minimal support
• Has strong report-writing skills
• Can make clear, balanced planning recommendations
• Has recent experience determining applications rather than managing teams
• Is motivated by delivery and throughput
• Experience using Uniform / IDOX is essential.
