About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Power Electronics Engineer to join their innovative team, working remotely with project connections to their Edinburgh, Scotland, UK office. This role focuses on the design, development, and testing of advanced power electronic systems for a range of demanding applications. You will be instrumental in pushing the envelope of efficiency and performance in power conversion technologies. We are looking for an individual with a deep understanding of power semiconductor devices, control strategies, and circuit design, capable of working independently and collaboratively in a virtual environment. Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop high-efficiency power converters, inverters, and motor drives.
- Perform detailed circuit analysis and simulations using industry-standard tools (e.g., PSpice, MATLAB/Simulink).
- Select and evaluate power semiconductor devices (e.g., MOSFETs, IGBTs, SiC, GaN) and passive components.
- Develop and implement sophisticated control algorithms for power electronic systems.
- Conduct prototype testing, debugging, and validation of power electronic circuits and systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including firmware engineers and system architects, in a remote setting.
Requirements
- Master's or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Power Electronics.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in the design and development of power electronic systems.
- Proven expertise in power converter topologies and their control methods.
- Strong knowledge of magnetics design and thermal management for power electronic components.
- Experience with lab equipment for testing and measurement of high-power systems.
