Senior Power Systems Engineer

About the Role

Our client, a prominent consultancy firm, is looking for a highly experienced Senior Power Systems Engineer to join their expanding team in Bradford . You will be responsible for delivering high-quality power system studies, designs, and technical advice to a diverse range of clients in the utilities, renewables, and industrial sectors. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed power system studies, including load flow, fault analysis, stability, and transient analysis .
• Design and specify substation electrical equipment , protection schemes, and earthing systems.
• Develop technical reports, proposals, and presentations for client engagements.
• Provide expert technical guidance on grid connection requirements and regulatory compliance.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers on technical methodologies and best practices.
• Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and deliver effective engineering solutions.

Requirements

• Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Power Engineering or a related field.
• Significant experience (7+ years) in power systems analysis and design.
• Proficiency with power system analysis software such as PSS/E, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, or ETAP.
• In-depth knowledge of power system protection principles and equipment.
• Experience with renewable energy integration and grid codes.
• Excellent report writing and communication skills, with the ability to manage client relationships.
