About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Power Systems Engineer to join their expert team in Sheffield . This role is critical for the design, analysis, and operation of power systems, ensuring the reliable and efficient delivery of electricity. You will be involved in complex projects related to grid infrastructure, protection systems, and the integration of new energy technologies. Working within a team of dedicated professionals, you will contribute to the stability and modernization of the energy network, applying advanced engineering principles to solve challenging technical problems in a key industrial region.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed power system studies, including load flow, short circuit, and stability analysis.
- Design, specify, and commission protection schemes for generation, transmission, and distribution assets.
- Develop and review interconnection studies for new power generation facilities.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to power system performance and reliability.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of power system modernization projects.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on power system engineering best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field with a specialization in power systems.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in power systems engineering .
- Proficiency with power system analysis software such as PSS/E, ETAP, PowerFactory DIgSILENT, or PSCAD.
- Strong knowledge of power system components, including generators, transformers, switchgear, and protection relays.
- Experience with grid codes, standards, and regulatory requirements for power systems.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
