Senior Primary School Teacher - Literacy

About the Role

Our client is searching for a highly motivated and experienced Senior Primary School Teacher specializing in Literacy to join a thriving school community in Coventry . This role offers the chance to influence literacy teaching across the entire primary phase, leading curriculum development and mentoring colleagues. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of the primary school Literacy curriculum, ensuring progression and engagement for all pupils.
• Deliver high-quality, inspiring teaching of reading, writing, and communication skills across all primary year groups.
• Mentor and support other teachers in developing their literacy pedagogy and classroom practice.
• Conduct regular assessments of student progress in literacy, identifying areas for improvement and implementing targeted interventions.
• Organise and lead school-wide literacy events and initiatives to promote reading for pleasure and enhance communication skills.
• Collaborate with the senior leadership team on school improvement plans related to literacy and English language development.

Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• A Bachelor's degree in Education, English, or a related discipline.
• Significant experience as a Primary School Teacher, with a demonstrable specialization in Literacy.
• Evidence of successful leadership or coordination of a subject area within a primary school.
• Up-to-date knowledge of phonics, reading schemes, and effective strategies for teaching English.
