About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Process Chemical Engineer to join their dynamic team in Aberdeen . This role is pivotal in driving innovation and efficiency in our chemical processing operations. You will be instrumental in developing, optimizing, and scaling up chemical processes, ensuring safety, quality, and environmental compliance. The successful candidate will work within a collaborative environment, contributing to projects that have a significant impact on the company's production capabilities and market position, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of new chemical processes, from conceptualization through to full-scale production.
- Optimize existing processes to improve yield, reduce waste, and enhance operational efficiency.
- Conduct rigorous process safety analyses, including HAZOP studies, and ensure adherence to all safety regulations.
- Troubleshoot complex process issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, operations, and maintenance, to ensure seamless project execution.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the overall technical development of the team.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in process engineering, preferably within the oil and gas or petrochemical sectors.
- Proven ability to manage complex engineering projects from inception to completion.
- Strong knowledge of process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS) and data analysis techniques.
- Excellent understanding of process safety management (PSM) principles and environmental regulations.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
