About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Process Development Engineer to join their manufacturing and operations team based in Belfast . This critical role will focus on optimizing and scaling up pharmaceutical manufacturing processes to ensure efficiency, quality, and compliance. You will work on developing robust manufacturing processes for both existing products and new drug candidates, collaborating closely with R&D, quality assurance, and production teams. This is an excellent opportunity for an accomplished engineer to contribute to the successful delivery of life-saving medicines in a challenging yet rewarding sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize scalable manufacturing processes for pharmaceutical products.
- Conduct process validation studies and ensure compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., GMP).
- Troubleshoot manufacturing issues and implement corrective actions to improve process performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to facilitate technology transfer from R&D to commercial production.
- Evaluate and implement new manufacturing technologies and equipment to enhance efficiency and quality.
- Prepare technical documentation, including process descriptions, validation reports, and SOPs.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in process development or manufacturing within the pharmaceutical industry .
- Strong understanding of GMP, validation principles, and regulatory requirements.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot complex process issues and implement effective solutions.
- Experience with process modeling and simulation tools is advantageous.
- Excellent project management and communication skills, with the ability to lead technical initiatives.
