Senior Process Development Scientist

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Process Development Scientist to join their innovative R&D team, focusing on upstream process development for biologics. This role, based remotely, is crucial for designing, optimizing, and scaling up cell culture processes to ensure robust and efficient production of therapeutic proteins. You will collaborate closely with internal teams and external partners to translate laboratory-scale innovations into manufacturing-ready processes. Key Responsibilities

• Design and execute experiments to optimize cell culture processes for biologics production, focusing on yield, quality, and robustness.
• Develop and scale up cell culture processes from laboratory bench to pilot scale, ensuring process transferability.
• Utilize statistical design of experiments (DoE) and data analysis tools to optimize process parameters and understand critical process attributes.
• Troubleshoot process issues and implement corrective actions to ensure consistent production.
• Author technical reports, development protocols, and technology transfer documents.
• Collaborate effectively with analytical development, manufacturing, and quality assurance teams.

Requirements

• Master's or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Biotechnology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in upstream process development for biologics (e.g., monoclonal antibodies, recombinant proteins).
• Strong understanding of mammalian cell culture principles, bioreactor operations, and scale-up strategies.
• Experience with Design of Experiments (DoE) methodologies and statistical analysis software.
• Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple projects effectively in a remote environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong technical documentation abilities.
