About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Process Engineer to join their dynamic team in Aberdeen . This critical role involves overseeing the design, development, and optimisation of complex process systems within the oil and gas sector. You will be instrumental in ensuring the efficiency, safety, and environmental compliance of operational facilities, contributing directly to the success of high-profile projects. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and simulation of process flow diagrams (PFDs) and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).
- Conduct process hazard analyses (PHAs), including HAZOP studies, to identify and mitigate risks.
- Develop and optimise operating procedures to enhance plant efficiency and safety.
- Perform technical evaluations of equipment and propose modifications for performance improvement.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineering staff.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project management, operations, and safety departments.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in process engineering within the oil and gas industry .
- Proven experience with process simulation software (e.g., HYSYS, Aspen Plus).
- Strong understanding of process safety management (PSM) principles and regulations.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively on-site in Aberdeen and collaborate with diverse teams.
