Senior Process Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Process Engineer to join their dynamic team based in Aberdeen . This role is pivotal in driving innovation and efficiency within chemical processes. You will be instrumental in the design, development, and optimization of chemical manufacturing processes, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background and a proactive approach to problem-solving, contributing to a collaborative environment focused on achieving operational excellence and fostering professional growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of new chemical processes, from conceptualization through to full-scale production.
• Optimize existing processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and minimize environmental impact.
• Conduct thorough process hazard analyses (PHAs) and implement safety recommendations.
• Develop and maintain detailed process documentation, including P&IDs, mass and energy balances, and operational procedures.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including R&D, operations, and maintenance, to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on complex projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in process engineering within the chemical or petrochemical industry.
• Proven experience with process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS).
• Strong understanding of thermodynamics , fluid mechanics, and reaction kinetics.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a meticulous attention to detail.
• Familiarity with relevant UK safety and environmental regulations.
